 (2007-05-15) A NEW COACH AND A NEW AGENT for Marcos Baghdatis !!!

We would like to officially announce : that Marcos has a new tennis trainer Yiannos Hadjigeorgiou, who was his team coach for the Davis Cup. Wanting some changes in his professional surrounding, he has decided to stop training with Guillaume Peyre. He does however thank him for the work accomplished together and of course Guillaumes' contribution to his rise to one of the world's top twenty players. Another change is that he is no longer with his agent, Aymeric Ferrier. Still working with the Mouratoglou Academy, Marcos is now being represented by Jean-Philippe Bernard www.mouratogloumanagement.com. We wish them luck and keep our finger crossed for Marcos during the next tournament.

In collaboration with his sponsor, the “Société Générale” of Cyprus, Marcos will take part in an exhibition match and encounter the French players, Fabrice Santoro and Marc Gicquel on April 10th 2007. Fabrice Santoro, 57th on the ATP ranking is probably one of the best known French players due to his long tennis career. After almost 20 years on the circuit, Santoro is one of the most experienced players on the courts today. He has four singles titles to his name and has amassed 22 doubles trophies. At 34, he is at the top of his game. Nicknamed by journalists “The Magician of the Courts” he will be participating in this charity fund-raiser. Marc Gicquel, ranked 42nd place is the N°3 French tennis player. After breaking into the Top 100 at the comparatively late age of 29, the 2006 season was his best to date and he reached his first ATP Tour final and also compiled a personal best of 17 ATP wins. (2007-03-01) February : An excellent month for Marcos

In the last few weeks, the sequence of events has shown Marcos claiming victory after victory.

Winner of the Zagreb tournament (Croatia) then the following week Marcos played in the finals of the Marseille tournament only to be defeated by his French opponent Gilles Simon.

An incredible match took place in Dubaï between Marcos and the world's N°2 player Rafaël Nadal. After a set and a half of dominating the Spaniard, Nadal gained the upper-hand and won the match in 3 sets.
