Marcos goes into the Australian Open with two more match wins under his belt after victories over Mikhail Youzhny and Luke Saville at the World Tennis Challenge in Adelaide this week.
Marcos edged Youzhny 4-6, 7-6, 10-5 on Tuesday at the exhibition event before dismissing young Australian Saville 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, Marcos and his fellow World Tennis Challenge competitors, including John McEnroe, Goran Ivanisevic and Michael Chang, visited the Adelaide Oval, donning Port Adelaide’s home guernsey and making a short walk across the Oval’s southern plaza to have a kick and a catch with Power legend Warren Tredrea and current player Jay Schulz.
The draw for the Australian Open is due to be made on Friday, with play at the first Grand Slam of the year beginning on Monday, 19 January.
