Marcos Misses Out In Final

Sunday, 11 January, 2015

Marcos’ good run at the Happy Valley Challenger ended in defeat to Ryan Harrison in the final on Sunday. Former World No.  43 Harrison converted three of his seven break points as he won 7-6(8), 6-4 in one hour and 44 minutes.

The week in South Australia gave Marcos much needed match practice before the Australian Open. He will also play an exhibition in Adelaide next week.

“Last year I didn’t play so much,” Marcos said. “I played well in the last six months but I still need to improve my game.”

“I wanted to play at the Challenger level so I can work on some things without so much pressure,” he added. “That’s where I came from when I was younger and so I am trying to come back the same way and go back to the basics.

“I’m spending the time on court and getting ready for the Aussie Open.”
