Marcos returns to the court for this week's Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. An ATP Tour 500 level event, the tournament holds a special place in Marcos' heart after reaching the final in 2016. He was awarded a main draw wild card into this year's draw.
Marcos will face fellow wild card Mohamed Safwat in the first round, with a potential clash against third seed Marin Cilic in the second round. Top seed Kei Nishikori is also in his half of the draw, as well as fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.
In fine form, Marcos is coming off a quarter-final result at the ATP Tour stop in Montpellier, France. He reached the last eight as a qualifier, winning four matches in impressive fashion. It was capped by a deciding-set victory over top seed Lucas Pouille, marking his first win over a Top 20 opponent this year.
Currently sitting at No. 124 in the ATP Rankings, Marcos is hoping a strong week in Dubai will help vault him back into the Top 100.
