Marcos has been in Cyprus since Saturday, preparing for the Davis Cup tie, where Cyprus will face Egypt.  After his outstanding performance in Dubai, Marcos returned home for a week. He started practising on Monday, ready for his matches during the first-round tie from 5-7 March.  “I have been at the gym twice a day and I’m also playing tennis. This will go on until Wednesday, on Thursday we shall relax so as to be ready for the matches” Marcos told his official web site. He added “Psychologically I feel a bit tired due to the continuous travelling but physically I am very fit. I am sure that I shall overcome this tiredness as I am home with my family and friends and this is very helpful.”

Marcos also spoke about his results in the first two months of the season: “I believe that it is very good. If at the beginning of the year I was told that I would count only four defeats at the end of February I would “sign it”.  Everything was very positive. The only thing I can’t get over with is the defeat by Novak Djokovic, because I was feeling that I had that match”.  Explaining what went wrong and how the match was lost, Marcos said: “I need to play more often with players of this level. I play one every 4-5 months. If I play more often I am sure that victories will also come.  I must continue to be solid in the “smaller” matches and play more of the “big” ones”.

Last Saturday Marcos “stole” some time and found himself at the “Tsirion” to watch his favourite football team in action.  Apolllon was facing APEP and won 4-0 and Marcos left the ground delighted.  “The team is becoming little by little a team. They played well and I believe they will play even better."

As you can see in the photo, Marcos watched the football game with Andreas Avraam, a member of the team who was suspended, the veteran player of Apollon, Marios Charalambous, his brother Petros and other friends.
