Marcos Advances In Geneva

Marcos reached the second round of the Geneva Challenger on Tuesday as he dismissed Croatia’s Ante Pavic 6-4, 6-2 in 64 minutes.

 

In the pair’s first meeting, Marcos fired 11 aces and won 90 per cent of his first serve points, breaking the No. 138-ranked Pavic three times to wrap up victory. 

 

Marcos improved to a 17-1 record on the ATP Challenger Tour this season, highlighted by winning three titles in Nottingham, Vancouver and Aptos. For a place in the Geneva quarter-finals, Marcos goes on to face either Viktor Troicki or Marco Cecchinato on Thursday.
